Description
Easy to grow in cold or hot climates and exceptionally drought tolerant, John Creech Sedum, also known as Two Row Stonecrop is an attractive and colorful low growing evergreen succulent plant perfect for a groundcover or border or to spill over walls or edges of containers. Spreading foliage quickly forms a dense low carpet of attractive scalloped green leaves with clusters of pretty, star-shaped pinkish mauve flowers that appear in late summer into fall. Butterflies love the flowers!
John Creech, former director of the U.S. National Arboreteum, reportedly collected this plant at the Central Siberian Botanic Garden in 1971.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 2 to 3 inches tall and spreading 18 inches or more wide, John Creech Sedum is ideal for use as a groundcover plant or as a border along walkways and paths or around patios. Very nice around rocks and boulders or spilling over walls. Also serves nicely as a soil cover and spiller plant in container gardens. A fine addition to rock gardens, succulent gardens and pink theme gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 18 inches apart for mass planting
