Description
‘Pride of Mobile’ is a magnificent heat and sun tolerant Southern Indica Hybrid Azalea that produces a profusion of large, 3 to 4 inch diameter vibrant rose-pink flowers with elongated red stamens protruding outward from the center as well as a large red speckled blotch! Truly spectacular in groupings or as a natural hedge in sunny to partially shaded landscape and woodland borders.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 6 to 8 feet tall and 8 to 10 feet wide, the Pride of Mobile Azalea is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or mass plantings, or to form a natural hedge in landscape and woodland borders. It is also useful to plant against large open walls in home foundation plantings. Butterflies love the flowers, and blooming branches serve very well for cutting to create stunning indoor floral arrangements. A fine addition to Azalea gardens, pink theme gardens, and cottage gardens
Suggested Spacing: 5 feet apart for solid hedges; 12 feet apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences
Southern Indica Azaleas are very easy to grow in a moist but well-drained acidic soil of average or better fertility and full sun to part shade. When established, plants have good drought tolerance. No pruning is necessary however plants can be pruned for shaping purposes or to control size.

I have ordered several Pride of Mobile Azaleas from Wilson Bros., mainly because I can’t find them locally any more. The color is my favorite. Wilson Bros. ships beautiful, lush plants. This last one I recently ordered may be the fullest of all that I have at this time. Weather has taken a toll on my plants and shrubs the past two years . I purchased this last one to take the place of a dead shrub, and it is a beautiful addition.—————————————–Thanks for the kind words and wonderful review! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG

I received the Pride of Mobile azalea today and it was great. Thank you!! Very well packaged!! I’ve already got it in the ground. We had one plant in a row of them die, and we couldn’t find that particular plant here it Houston. They said it was ‘old fashioned’. The ones here at our home are at least 35 years old and look great. We love that variety!! We only lost one because of a water leak while we were gone. So glad we found one. Thanks, good job. I hope you continue to offer Pride of Mobile…it’s a beautiful, strong variety.
