Description
A profuse bloomer and probably the most popular of the Drift Series, the Red Drift Rose produces petite and fully double vibrant red flowers that resemble those of miniature roses. The flowers are borne in large clusters in spring and repeat up to 5 times through the season. Red Drift has been one of the strongest performers of the series in our gardens and shares the excellent disease resistance as all others in the Drift Series.
The family of Drift Groundcover Roses are comparable to the family of Knock Out Roses in disease resistance and low-maintenance, however are much smaller in size. They get their small size from being a cross between full-size groundcover roses and miniature roses. From the former they kept toughness, disease resistance and winter hardiness. From the miniatures, they inherited their well-managed size and repeat-blooming nature. Hardy and thriving in USDA Zones 4 through 11, the Drift Roses are some of if not the most cold and heat tolerant roses on earth!
Landscape & Garden Uses
As dwarfs, Drift Roses are a perfect fit in smaller garden spaces and in pots, planters and other containers. In larger landscape spaces, for stunning floral displays and vibrant splashes of season-long color plant Drift Roses in groupings or mass plantings or as a border along walks and pathways. One of a few roses we suggest for use in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to rose gardens, red theme gardens and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing:  2 feet apart for groupings and solid borders;  5 feet or more apart for space between plants

How Many Plants Needed To Cover A Planting Area?
Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 4a, where this Drift Rose variety is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Requirements

Drift Roses are exceptionally easy to grow in average, well-drained soils with medium moisture in full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, the Drift roses require morning sun to dry the morning dew from their leaves, which prevents powdery mildew from forming on the leaves. Some afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for best flowering. Drift Roses do not require pruning, however, they do benefit from it. We cut our Drift Roses back to about 4 to 6 inches above the ground before new growth begins to emerge in late winter or very early spring. Plants will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers is not necessary however will encourage more new buds and flowers.

Excellent quality and quick shipping.——————————————-Thanks so much for your review. Let us know if there’s ever anything we can help you with. 🙂 – Beth | WBG
I make it a habit these days of just browsing through the Wilson website looking for plants I can use. I usually have a place and plant idea in mind when I start. I picked the Red Drift Rose out of the vast Wilson selection for a ground cover in a spot I had seasonal color in but wanted something low maintenance but color. The red drift rose has worked nicely in its location and is already blooming nicely.—————————————–One of my favorites! Thanks for the kind words and wonderful review! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
