Description
An offspring of the ever-popular Ruby Loropetalum, ‘Ruby Parfait’ adds a whole new twist in color with its evergreen burgundy variegated leaves that are splashed in pink and white shades. What’s more, from late winter to early spring loads of deep pink fringe flowers contrast beautifully with the foliage to put on an amazing show of color in the landscape. Mature height is about 6 feet tall and wide though it responds very well to pruning into formal shapes and hedges which can be maintained at 3 to 4 feet tall. A colorful accent or hedge plant in sunny to partially shaded landscape borders and home foundation plants. Also nice as espalier (trained to grow flat against a wall) in home foundation plantings. Easy to grow with high drought tolerance when established and thrives in full blazing sun to part shade.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 4 to 6 feet tall and wide depending on pruning, Ruby Parfait Loropetalum is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings, or in straight or staggered rows in home foundation plantings and landscape borders. Can be trimmed as a formal hedge or to various formal shapes such as a globe, pyramid or column or pom pom and also serves well as espalier (trained to grow flat against a wall) in home foundation plantings or other walls. Its low water needs makes it suitable for use in Xeriscape plantings.
Spacing: 4 feet apart for solid hedge; 10 feet or more for space between plants

Growing Preferences
Ruby Parfait Loropetalum is very easy to grow in most any average, most but well-drained soil and full sun to part shade. As with so many other ornamental plants, constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. So make sure to plant in a well-drained site. When established, plants are exceptionally drought tolerant, requiring little if any supplemental irrigation. Foliage is more dense in full sun. Requires no pruning, however responds very well to almost any amount, making it an excellent choice for formal hedges and various shapes.
