Grwoing Preferences
Arborvitae are very easy to grow and care for. They are adaptable to many soil types including well-draining red clay and like full sun to part shade. They prefer a moist but well-drained soil. They don’t like an overly dry site. As with so many other ornamental plants, constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. Maintenance is minimal with very little if any pruning ever required.

I ordered these cute little shrubs several weeks ago (26 of them) to replace an old dying juniper hedge. I wanted something that was evergreen and that didn’t get too large so trimming would be minimally necessary, if at all. I live in a very rural area in the Rocky Mountains of Western Colorado. After making sure these plants would endure our climate, I ordered these Tiny Tim Arborvitae shrubs. I chose the smaller container so planting would be easier for me. These things are adorable! I’m really going to like the global shape as they mature to add an interesting look to my “hedge”. These are the most healthy plants I’ve seen from an online service. They even rival our local nurseries. They were packed so securely in the boxes that there was no shifting, no loss of soil (as wet paper was placed on top of the soil and secured to the pots with packing tape), and no damage to the plants. They were perfectly shaped, no dry or dead foliage. Just spectacular! I will definitely be buying all my plants from Wilson Brothers Gardens from now on. Very pleased! ———— WBG RESPONSE: Hi Zoby – Thanks for taking the time to provide your review.
